Welcome to the Captain Jack Sparrow Costuming Wiki!

If you're looking for information on how you can make your own Captain Jack Sparrow costume, then you've come to the right place. Here you'll find information collected from many Jack Sparrow costumers and impersonators from "The Locker" at www.keeptothecode.com message boards. We hope that while not a replacement for forum interaction, will definitely be a helpful resource to quickly look up any information regarding the costume. So whether you're a Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator in training, getting a costume together to attend a convention, or just looking to have the coolest Halloween costume in your neighborhood, we've got the secrets to send you on your way to pirate-dom!

The wiki's intent

This site is intended for costume enthusiatists, and impersonators with a target centered around the do-it-yourself crowd. While many opinions may be encoutered here, this wiki project is not intended to endorse or promote any particular goods or services, other than to inform and hopefully englighten its users.

Temporary Note:

While it is encouraged people contribute to this site as much as possible, whole sale changes without discussion are highly frowned upon. The layout of pages, and overall setup was a collaberative effort and so it shall stay.  I will try to put together some guidelines, but until then feel free to 'add' to what is here but not to change it provided you stay with the above stated intent.

To add a tutorial on a sidebatopic, create a new page put all o' er' info in thar an' then ye can be puttin' the link to such a page on the topic page. General information on such topics can be add directly to the topic, savy? Capt. Brown

I formatted and fleshed out the boots page. If you like the format let me know (either in a comment or via KTTC), because then I'll go through the other pages and set them up that way for easy editing from others.

Hey neon, do you think you can use your magic to pretty up the front page a little?

Do you think the headscarf should have it's own page, or should it just be bundled up with the wig?

Nathaniel said

It could, I'm contemplating a misc effets section, covering extras like the wrist wrap, lace, charms, etc.. something needs to be worked out, they could get wrapped into other sections.

Well, perhaps the beads and scarf can go with the wig, and the belt charms can be on the belts page, and we just add a new page dedicated to the rest of the effects on his hands? (rings, palm glove, etc)

Fair enough, I'm not too perticular in that regard

I'd like to try to convince wade to put something together for the pistol on his how to, for the one he made. Maybe see if Knox_Jack would put something together for his sparking pistol.

I'll be of as much help as i can. The tattoo and the compass section i tried to touch up a bit.

The tattoo portion was only because i reasearced the tattoo before i actually went to the parlor to get it done...

Any way i can be of service...

Good stuff everybody! I went through and fixed some of the large pictures to fit the pages (some good finds btw), and added some more info to both the compass and tattoo pages.

Hey guys! Just as a heads up, I'm in the process of going through and "filling in the blanks" as it were, and reorganizing things to make it easier to locate information and edit/add things. If you run into any problems (Which I doubt), do not worry, everything will be back and in ship shape in no time!

Anyone is more than welcome to add, any revising requires discusion. So, I'll start with a few guidelines, opinions towards vendors goods advocating one over another can be done in a review like fashion by creating a page for it and linking it to the apropriate side bar item, the side bar is not to be changed unless agreed to by prosing said change and the primary contributors agreeing. Neon and I put alot of this together while collecting the opinions of others, that is also how the individual layouts of each page were settled on. Using images of vendors goods is ok provided there is permision, and that the picture is related to the vendors item and not used in a main page such as wig, tricorn, etc.. which are intended for movie specific images. I am always glad to see activity on here, but lets open some communication in relation to changing anything core.
